Day 1

The 1-day Rainbow Mountain tour in private service begins with the pick-up of the tourist from the door of his hotel in the city of Cusco at 5 in the morning on average. Aboard a modern tourist transport (van or minivan, depending on the number of tourists in the private group), the trip is made for 80 kilometers along the southern highway towards the town of Cusipata (route of almost 2 hours).
In the town of Cusipata we will stop to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the tourist restaurant La Montana. Breakfast offers several options, including: Cusco breads, jams, butters, fresh fruits, juices, yogurt, cereals, pancakes, scrambled eggs, tequeños, hot infusions, coffee and more. Visitors will have almost 1 hour to have breakfast in total peace and quiet, and then continue with the trip.
This second trip is made along a dirt road with ascending paths. From the window you can see the high mountains, the Andean auchenids and the small houses that inhabit this rugged geography. After a route of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes you arrive at the Phulawasipata camp, at an altitude of approximately 4,800 meters above sea level.
At Phulawasipata, visitors will have time to use the toilets and get ready before beginning the final hike to Rainbow Mountain. Your private guide will help you adjust to the route better. Optionally, tourists can request a horse ride with a local resident (horse ride not included in the tour. It costs approximately 60 soles). The route on foot takes almost 2 hours. While going on horseback takes 50 minutes on average.
The hike will always be accompanied by a professional tour guide trained in first aid, so the route is safe. Once in Vinicunca, tourists will enjoy a beautiful landscape, full of mountains, snow-capped peaks in the distance and, most importantly, Vinicunca with its various colors due to the existence of minerals in the area.
Tourists will spend more than an hour at the site, always accompanied by their professional tour guide. The guide will help them get the best photos from the best viewpoints of Vinicunca. They will also explain the historical process of the mountain, the reason for its colors and the optional routes in the area. After enjoying the Mountain of 7 Colors, they will return (by the same route they took) to the Phulawasipata camp.
In Phulawasipata, visitors will board the tourist transport again for the return trip (average 1 hour 30 minutes) to the town of Cusipata. There, visitors will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the tourist restaurant La Montana. Lunch includes various options made with local ingredients: hot soups, rice, pasta, salads, beef stews, chicken stew, lomo saltado, trout ceviche, tequeños, potatoes, stews, desserts, hot drinks and more.
After enjoying a tourist lunch, you will board your transport again for the return trip to the city of Cusco (a trip of almost 2 hours). The tour ends at approximately 5 pm with the transfer of the visitor to his/her hotel in the city of Cusco.
